Sunreef 62 at Auction: A luxury catamaran in a rising market
Catamarans have become a fixed part of the Mediterranean yacht scene, with their share of the charter fleet there more than doubling over the past decade. Sunreef Yachts, based in Gdańsk, Poland, is one of the leading builders in the luxury end of that market. This 2008 Sunreef 62 is a sailing catamaran with five guest cabins, a crew cabin and a carbon mast, and she has a generator, solar panels and Starlink on board. She now comes to market through a yacht auction on YachtBid, at a moment when demand for catamarans continues to grow. For anyone following the boat auction market in Europe, this is a chance to secure a proven luxury multihull on clear, open terms.

A model that helped define the luxury catamaran
Sunreef Yachts introduced the 62 range in 2005 from its yard in Gdańsk, Poland and it quickly grew into the shipyard's most popular model, with around 30 units sold in its first four years. Owners could choose their own layout, fit-out and equipment, which is why no two Sunreef 62s are quite the same. The design is no slouch under sail either: sister ships have recorded speeds of around 22 knots.
This example measures 18.90 metres with a generous 9.27-metre beam and a shallow 1.55-metre draft, which gives access to shallower anchorages. She sleeps 10 guests in 5 cabins, with separate quarters for 2 crew. Twin Yanmar 4JH-HTE diesels (110 hp each) handle manoeuvring and calm days, while the carbon mast and electric winches keep sail handling manageable. For life away from the marina she carries a 17 kVA Kohler generator, six 1,630 W solar panels, Raymarine navigation and a Starlink antenna.
Market snapshot: why catamarans like this are in demand
The past few years have reshaped the yacht market, and catamarans are one of the clearest winners. In the Mediterranean charter fleet, the share of catamarans has grown from roughly 15% a decade ago to more than 40% today. Charter guests are willing to pay noticeably more for the space and stability of two hulls, and those boats are booked more often during the season. Part of the demand that once went to monohulls is now moving to multihulls.
At the same time, prices across the wider market have settled after the post-pandemic peak of 2022 and 2023, while the segment above 60 feet has remained comparatively stable. Buyers today compare carefully and take their time, which makes transparent price discovery more valuable than ever.
For a buyer, that combination is attractive: pricing has returned to realistic levels, while the long-term appetite for spacious, self-sufficient catamarans keeps growing. Want the bigger picture? Read our analysis of the 2026 yacht market.
